As much as we want to believe that we are on a straight and ever-forward path, the truth is, setbacks are an inevitable part of life. Setbacks are always a hard pill to swallow as they hit you square between the eyes, kick you in the gut, and leave you wondering if you’ll get through the pain.
For me, the most recent setback was having to walk away from a piece of property that my business partner and I had given our all towards over the past four months. As some of you know, but as most of you don’t, I have been working towards a business venture with my partner Tess. However, we recently had to step away from what seemed like the “perfect” property due to unfortunate environmental implications and hazards. It’s a heartbreak that will be hard to shake, but I am learning to cope with and rid the pain by investing my time and energy in other facets of my life.
So what now? All I can do is take a deep breath, reevaluate, and move forward. Even though Peregrinator’s Paradise is the ultimate goal, I have other dreams and passions that I want to cultivate during this time of reevaluation: focusing on my minimalist journey, diving head first into vlogging, and launching “Common Hours” podcast with my main girl Jessa of Wavy Alabaster. and begin again with the business later down the line.
So cheers, to all of life’s setbacks, and to all of the roads ahead.
